After careful consideration over the last few months, the Board of Directors has decided that the Harris County Healthcare Alliance has served its purpose and should come to an end.  We are very proud of the many successes the Alliance has been able to achieve since its inception and believe that the Alliance has played an important role in facilitating collaboration in the healthcare community. Thank you all for the work you have been a part of these past years in helping create a stronger and more cohesive healthcare system throughout Houston and Harris County.

U.S. Health & Human Services Secretary Visited Houston with a Reminder to Enroll

U.S. Secretary of Health & Human Services, Sylvia Burwell, met with community leaders and grassroots organizations, then held a press conference, at the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center on November 18 to help spread the word that 2014 health insurance enrollment is open.

Cities Changing Diabetes

City of Houston and Novo Nordisk Partner Against Urban Diabetes
Houston has become the first U.S. city to join the Cities Changing Diabetes partnership. On November 3rd, the City of Houston and Novo Nordisk announced an innovative partnership to fight the urban diabetes epidemic. Houston is the third city globally to join the Cities Changing Diabetes program, which was initiated earlier in 2014 by Novo Nordisk. The first two cities are Mexico City and Copenhagen.
