A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

After careful consideration over the last few months, the Board of Directors has decided that the Harris County Healthcare Alliance has served its purpose and should come to an end.  We are very proud of the many successes the Alliance has been able to achieve since its inception and believe that the Alliance has played an important role in facilitating collaboration in the healthcare community. Thank you all for the work you have been a part of these past years in helping create a stronger and more cohesive healthcare system throughout Houston and Harris County.

HCPHES (Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services) has two positions housed in its newest division, Nutrition & Chronic Disease Prevention (NCDP), which was launched in September 2014 to focus efforts in nutritional, physical, and mental health – one as a key program manager and the other as a chronic disease-focused physician leadership position:

Physician (M.D.), Chronic Disease Prevention
The Chronic Disease Prevention (CDP) Physician will provide leadership, oversight & operational management for the CDP Unit (CDPU). S/he will have department-wide responsibilities such as coordinating chronic disease prevention efforts by providing evidence-based expertise, serving as alternate Local Health Authority, providing clinical direction & direct patient care as required.
